Parikia

Parikia was built in the middle of the western shore of paros around large sheltered natural bay. It is the island's capital city and its governmental and commercial centre, hosting the island's merchant and passenger port.

There are branch offices of several major banks, apost office, a Medical Centre, Internet cafes, travel bureaus and rental agencies. There are many hotels, hundrends of room/studios and 3 camping facilities (Livadia, Krios and Parasporos) offering each visitor the opportunity to find the type of accomodation that suits them. As such we want to inform potential visitors that comfortable and quality accomodation is assured when you book in advance at one of the legally recognized businesses operating on the island. We recommend that visitors don't risk entrusting their accomodation to whoever may offer lodgings when they arrive in the port.

As you stroll around Parikia you will encounter at every turn taverns, ouzerie and restaurants serving delicious local, Greek and international cuisine. In the narrow cobbled passages around the castle (old market) and along the waterfront you can find shops of all descriptions.

The sunsets over the bay give Parikia unique moments of natural beauty and the city's nightlife begins as the dusk fades in the west.

There are numerous bars, cafes, discos and night clubs with live music and the fun continues until the wee hours. There are fantastic beaches in and around Parikia that are easily accessible: Livadia, Krios, Martsello, Kaminia, Souvlia, Delfini, Parasporos and Ag. Eirini
